The Secret Thief eBook Nina Lane
I've been a fan of Nina Lane's writing since I discovered her Spiral of Bliss series. I love how her stories are always the perfect combination of true romance and off the charts chemistry.The Secret Thief was amazing and different than anything I've ever read from Nina.
The story centered around two lost souls who find salvation in one another. Eve is lost and hiding - it almost felt like she was trying to cave into herself- attempting to keep everything and everyone away. She was so hurt and filled with shame, dealing with an unspeakable betrayal, a seemingly uncaring mother and the loss of her beloved uncle. You can feel her anguish from the very first pages. Flynn was super mysterious and super hunky lighthouse keeper who offers Eve an lifeline when she feels like she's drowning.
Eve is dealing with the feeling that her life is unraveling and trying to hold on to herself. In Flynn she finds may have found a lifeline, but she wonders if she's wrong to trust someone when she can't seem to trust herself. Their relationship is slow to start; Flynn is a quiet and mysterious employer and Eve is trying to come to terms with her attraction to her hot boss and all that has gone wrong in her personal and professional life. Their connection, however, was palpable even before it became physical.
Flynn is dealing with issues of his own; issues which have lead to his reclusive life. He too struggles with his attraction towards Eve and his own feelings of unworthiness. He is filled with guilt and shame stemming from dark events in his past. He is bossy and protective toward Eve, but never in an overbearing, alpha-way. Flynn obviously cares for Eve, but is not sure he can be what she needs and deserves.
Flynn and Eve must learn to trust in themselves and realize that together they can face anything.
There are so may elements to this story: mystery, small town charm, horrible villains, romance and gorgeous fairy-tales all weaved together to tell a beautiful and compelling story. Simply put, The Secret Thief is an absolute treat for any romance reader.

The Secret Thief eBook Nina Lane Reviews
The Secret Thief is sensational. Nina Lane proves once again just how prolific a writer she continues to be, stepping into the world of romantic suspense like a veteran. The way she combines the most beautiful of love stories with an underlying mystery is beyond perfect. It wasn't hard to be swept away by the unlikely tale of the art historian and the lighthouse keeper. In fact much like the sea that surrounds the small town of Castille, Maine flows in and out, I was able to take a little piece of Eve and Flynn with me each time I finished a chapter, completely fulfilled by each and every word.
This is a grand love story filled with salvation. One that is completely unexpected yet is wildly sexy and very tender. Eve Perrin's life is in shambles and the very last thing on her mind is starting yet another risky and failed relationship with the mysterious Flynn Alverton. But as consequences sprinkled with a bit of coincidence pave the way for these two to meet and become boss and employee, it's hard not to notice the sparks flying between them. Both dubious enough to question that chemistry, I found it charming to see each of them deny what might be happening between them, while pushing each other's buttons in the most subtle of ways.
Eve, despite her recent failings, is no wallflower. I loved her tenacity and her drive to live her life the way she wanted to, ignoring her God awful Mother's warnings and the rumblings about her past transgressions through her newly-adopted town. She is brilliant and funny and fierce. She's not afraid to tackle a century-old toilet nor a sometimes scary stray dog. Thrown into a life she never saw coming, I couldn't help but root for her to find the strength to be the woman she lost along the way.
And Flynn. Oh my. The brooding, sexy, man of few words. I couldn't blame Eve for wanting him to be the star of many a night's fantasy. Despite their simple and guarded meetings each morning, Flynn said more with his eyes to Eve than she ever thought possible. Like her beloved crossword puzzles, he was one riddle she was hellbent on solving. And I couldn't blame her one bit!
There is so much to absorb in this book beyond the burgeoning love between Eve and Flynn. There are numerous secrets plus the less than savory characters who threaten Castille's charm and somehow Nina Lane weaves it all together seamlessly. Her love of fairy tales is a constant thread throughout this story and it's those kind of fine details that makes her books a step above the rest. I find myself learning something new with each book she writes and I'm forever grateful.
I can't recommend The Secret Thief highly enough. It is superb from start to finish.
As those last words are read, the warmth, the special feeling of love that only Nina Lane can deliver will simply make you smile. And honestly I can't think of anything better than that. This book is why I read.
A huge 5++ stars!
